These terms cover the website jewishluach.com (also reached as calendar.jewishluach.com), the Jewish Luach app for Android, the zmanim-by-text line, and the date-pickers that other websites embed from us. All of them are run by Zion Saal, the operator of Jewish Luach, who can be reached at info@jewishluach.com.

By using the website, the app or the text line you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use them.

Who owns the site

Everything on the website and in the app belongs to Jewish Luach and is protected by copyright: the luach and the way it is laid out, the zmanim, molad and yahrzeit tables, the yahrzeit directory, the help pages and every other text, the translations, the design and look of the pages, the name and the logo, the date-pickers and the zmanim box, and the code behind all of them.

Using the site gives you no rights in it beyond what is written on this page. Every right not expressly given here is reserved.

What you may do

Use the website, the app and the text line for yourself, your family, your shul or your mosad.
Print the luach, the molad luach and the zmanim for your own use or to hang up in a shul, as long as the printouts are not sold.
Share a link to any page.
Put our date-picker on your website the way the date-picker page and its documentation offer it, with its link to jewishluach.com left in place.

No copying

The site is the fruit of many years of work. Without our written permission you may not:

Copy the website or the app, or make a website, app or other product that imitates it: its pages, its layout and design, its texts or what it does.
Copy, republish or sell its content (the luach, the zmanim, the molad tables, the yahrzeit directory, the help texts) on another website, in an app, in print or in any other form.
Collect its content in bulk with programs, scripts or bots, or run your own website or app on our data, other than through the date-picker as it is offered.
Show the site inside another website (in a frame), or present the site, or any part of it, as your own.
Remove or hide the name Jewish Luach, the copyright notice or the link back to jewishluach.com from anything you received from us.
Use our name, logo or look in a way that suggests that another website, app or product is ours or comes from us.

Asking for permission

If you would like to use something from the site in a way not listed above, such as in a luach, a book or brochure, an app or a website, write to us before you do. Permission counts only when it is given in writing.

How exact the times are

We work hard to keep the luach, the zmanim and the molad correct, but a mistake can happen, and a calculated time can differ from the real one at your place by a minute or more. Do not leave anything to the last minute.

The site is not a psak: for halachah lemaaseh ask your Rov. If you find a mistake, please let us know so it can be fixed.

No guarantee

The website, the app, the text line and the date-pickers are given free of charge and as they are. We do not promise that they will always work or be free of mistakes, and we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using them or relying on them. We may change, pause or stop any part of them at any time.

If the terms are broken

We may block anyone who breaks these terms from the website, the text line or our server, and we reserve the right to take legal action against copying or misuse of our work.

Privacy

What we keep about you, and why, is explained in the privacy policy.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version appears on this page with a new date. Using the site after a change means you accept the new version.
